Slow Cooker Cranberry Chicken

1. Prepare the slow cooker

Lightly grease the slow cooker with a little oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.

2. Add the chicken

Place the chicken breasts or thighs at the bottom of the slow cooker in a single layer.

3. Make the cranberry sauce mixture

In a bowl, mix together:

  • cranberry sauce
  • French dressing
  • onion soup mix
  • brown sugar
  • soy sauce

Stir until well combined.

4. Pour over the chicken

Pour the cranberry sauce mixture evenly over the chicken so that all pieces are well coated.

5. Slow cook

Cover and cook:

  • Low heat: 5–6 hours
    or
  • High heat: 3–4 hours

The chicken should become tender and fully cooked.

6. Thicken the sauce (optional)

If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water and stir it into the slow cooker during the last 20 minutes of cooking.

7. Serve

Serve the cranberry chicken hot with:

  • steamed rice 🍚
  • mashed potatoes 🥔
  • roasted vegetables 🥦
  • or buttered noodles 🍝

Spoon the delicious cranberry sauce over the chicken before serving.
