Ovens can become difficult to clean because cooking oils, sauces, food particles, and grease gradually build up on the interior surfaces. Over time, those residues can become hard and sticky, making ordinary wiping feel almost impossible. A dishwasher tablet contains powerful cleaning agents designed to break down food residue and grease, which is why some people use a diluted solution as an occasional cleaning aid.
The basic method is simple. First, make sure the oven is completely switched off and cool. Remove the oven racks and loose pieces that can be taken out safely. Never attempt this cleaning method while the oven is hot.
Place a dishwasher tablet in a heat-resistant container and add warm water. Allow the tablet to dissolve, following the product instructions where applicable. You can then use the diluted solution with a sponge or suitable cloth to work on greasy oven surfaces.
