Easy Apple Cinnamon Cake

1. Prepare the apples

Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin pieces. Place them in a bowl and toss with the brown sugar, cinnamon, flour, and melted butter. Set aside.

2. Prepare the batter

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and lightly flour a 9-inch round or square baking pan.

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

In another large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and creamy.

3. Add the eggs

Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk. Mix just until the batter is smooth. Don’t overmix.

4. Layer the cake

Spread about half of the batter into the prepared pan.

Arrange half of the cinnamon-coated apples over the batter.

Spread the remaining batter on top, then arrange the rest of the apples over the surface. Gently press a few apple slices into the batter.

5. Bake

Bake for approximately 40–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.

If the top begins browning too quickly, loosely cover it with aluminum foil during the final part of baking.

6. Cool

Let the cake cool in the pan for about 15–20 minutes, then transfer it to a serving plate.

7. Finish and serve

Dust the top with powdered sugar and a light sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.

Serve warm or at room temperature with a cup of coffee, tea, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Tip: For the best flavor, use sweet-tart apples such as Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or a combination of both.
