Donut Stuffed with Strawberry Cream

Step 1: Prepare the Yeast

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and 1 teaspoon sugar.
  2. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until it becomes foamy.

Step 2: Make the Dough

  1. In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the yeast mixture, egg, and softened butter.
  3. Mix until a dough forms.

Step 3: Knead the Dough

  1. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  2. Place it in a lightly greased bowl.
  3. Cover and let rise for 1–1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

Step 4: Shape the Donuts

  1. Roll the dough to about ½ inch thickness.
  2. Cut into round circles using a glass or cutter.
  3. Place on parchment paper and let rest 30 minutes.

Step 5: Fry the Donuts

  1. Heat oil in a deep pan to 170–180°C (340–355°F).
  2. Fry donuts 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  3. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 6: Prepare the Cream

  1. In a bowl, beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla.
  2. Whip until thick and fluffy.

Step 7: Fill the Donuts

  1. Slice each donut halfway like a sandwich.
  2. Spread berry jam on the bottom half.
  3. Add a generous layer of whipped cream.
  4. Close with the top half.

Step 8: Finish

  1. Dust the tops with powdered sugar.
  2. Serve fresh and enjoy!

✅ Tips

  • You can bake them instead of frying at 180°C (350°F) for 12–15 minutes.
  • Add fresh berries with the jam for extra flavor.
  • Chill the cream before whipping for better texture.
