Crispy Pan-Fried Dumplings (Potstickers)

Step 1: Prepare the Filling

In a bowl combine:

  • Ground pork or chicken
  • Chopped cabbage
  • Green onions
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Soy sauce
  • Sesame oil
  • Black pepper
  • Cornstarch

Mix everything well until fully combined.

Step 2: Fill the Dumplings

  1. Place a dumpling wrapper in your hand.
  2. Add about 1 tablespoon filling in the center.
  3. Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges.
  4. Fold the wrapper and pinch the edges together to seal.

Repeat until all dumplings are filled.

Step 3: Heat the Pan

Heat 1–2 tablespoons oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.

Step 4: Fry the Dumplings

Place the dumplings flat-side down in the pan.

Cook for 2–3 minutes until the bottoms turn golden brown and crispy.

Step 5: Steam the Dumplings

  1. Carefully pour ½ cup water into the pan.
  2. Immediately cover with a lid.

Let them steam for 5–6 minutes until the filling is cooked.

Step 6: Finish Crisping

Remove the lid and cook another 1–2 minutes so the bottoms become crispy again.

Step 7: Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle with:

  • Sesame seeds
  • Chopped green onions

Serve hot.
