Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks

  • by

In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until it becomes foamy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, then mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Step 2: Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap.

Let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Step 3: Prepare the Garlic Butter

While the dough is rising, mix together:

  • Melted butter
  • Minced garlic
  • Parsley
  • Italian seasoning

Set aside.

Step 4: Shape the Bread

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Punch down the dough and roll it into a large rectangle, about 12 x 16 inches.

Transfer it to the prepared baking sheet.

Step 5: Add the Toppings

Brush the entire surface generously with the garlic butter mixture.

Sprinkle the mozzarella evenly over the dough.

Finish with the grated Parmesan cheese.

Step 6: Bake

Bake for 14–18 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly browned.

Step 7: Slice and Finish

Remove from the oven and immediately brush with any remaining garlic butter.

Sprinkle with extra parsley.

Slice into breadsticks using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
