Cheesy Garlic Biscuits

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients

  • In a large bowl, whisk together:
    • Flour
    • Baking powder
    • Baking soda
    • Salt
    • Garlic powder

Step 3: Add the Butter

  • Add the cold cubed butter.
  • Cut it into the flour using a pastry cutter or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 4: Add the Cheese

  • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.

Step 5: Add the Buttermilk

  • Pour in the buttermilk.
  • Stir gently just until the dough comes together. Do not overmix.

Step 6: Shape the Biscuits

  • Using a large spoon or ice cream scoop, scoop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Leave about 2 inches (5 cm) between each biscuit.

Step 7: Bake

  • Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the biscuits are cooked through.

Step 8: Make the Garlic Butter

  • While the biscuits bake, combine:
    • Melted butter
    • Minced garlic
    • Parsley
    • Pinch of salt

Step 9: Brush and Serve

  • Remove the biscuits from the oven.
  • Immediately brush the tops generously with the garlic butter.
  • Serve warm while the cheese is soft and melty.

Tips for Perfect Biscuits

  • Keep the butter cold for the fluffiest texture.
  • Freshly shredded cheddar melts better than pre-shredded cheese.
  • Avoid overmixing the dough to keep the biscuits light and tender.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chopped jalapeños for a spicy twist.

Storage

  • Refrigerator: Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
  • Freezer: Freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat: Warm in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5–7 minutes or microwave for 20–30 seconds.

Enjoy these warm, cheesy garlic biscuits fresh from the oven with your favorite meal or as a comforting snack! 🧀✨
