The letter contained Daniel’s final words.

He spoke about his love for Emily.

His dreams for his son.

His hopes for the future.

Then Emily reached the final page.

A map had been drawn by hand.

And beneath it, Daniel wrote:

“If this letter ever reaches you, follow the map.”

Emily stared in disbelief.

The map pointed toward a remote cabin deep in the mountains.

The place where Daniel and his closest friend had once trained together.

A week later she made the journey.
