Step 1: Prepare the Pie Dough

  1. In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add cold butter and mix with your fingers or pastry cutter until it looks like coarse crumbs.

Step 4: Add the Filling

  2. Dot the filling with small pieces of butter.

Step 5: Add the Top Crust

  1. Roll out the second dough.
  2. Place over the pie or create a lattice pattern.
  3. Trim and crimp the edges.

Brush with egg wash and sprinkle sugar for a golden crust.

Step 6: Bake

  1. Bake for 45–55 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
