Stuffed Cabbages Rolls

Step 1: Prepare the Cabbage

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  2. Carefully place the whole cabbage into the boiling water.
  3. Cook for 3–5 minutes until the outer leaves soften.
  4. Remove the cabbage and gently peel off the softened leaves.

Step 2: Prepare the Filling

  1. In a large bowl combine:
    • ground meat
    • cooked rice
    • chopped onion
    • garlic
    • egg
    • salt
    • pepper
    • paprika
    • parsley
  2. Mix until everything is well combined.

Step 3: Fill the Cabbage Leaves

  1. Lay a cabbage leaf flat.
  2. Place 2–3 tablespoons of filling near the base.
  3. Fold the sides inward and roll tightly like a burrito.

Step 4: Prepare the Sauce

  1. In a bowl mix:
    • tomato sauce
    • crushed tomatoes
    • sugar
    • salt
    • pepper
    • garlic powder

Step 5: Assemble

  1. Spread a little sauce on the bottom of a baking dish or pot.
  2. Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down.
  3. Pour the remaining sauce over the rolls.

Step 6: Cook

Oven Method

  • Cover with foil.
  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 60–75 minutes.

Stovetop Method

  • Simmer on low heat for 45–60 minutes.
