Homemade Ginger Biscuits

  • by

1. Prepare the Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, add the flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix everything together thoroughly so the ginger and baking soda are evenly distributed.

2. Mix the Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs. Add the fresh milk and golden syrup, then mix until well combined.

3. Combine Everything

Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing as you go. Add the sugar and continue mixing until everything comes together into a soft, workable dough.

If the dough feels too sticky, add a little flour at a time. Avoid adding too much flour because you want the biscuits to remain tender.

4. Shape the Biscuits

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Take small portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on a greased or lined baking tray, leaving enough space between each biscuit.

Gently flatten each ball with your fingers or the bottom of a glass.

5. Bake

Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 12–18 minutes, or until the biscuits are nicely browned and cooked through.

Keep an eye on them toward the end because baking time can vary depending on the size and thickness of the biscuits.

6. Cool and Serve

Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool on the baking tray for a few minutes. Transfer them to a wire rack and allow them to cool completely.

Once cooled, enjoy your homemade ginger biscuits with tea, coffee, or a glass of milk! ☕🍪

Storage Tip

Store the cooled biscuits in an airtight container. They should stay delicious and crunchy for several days.

Enjoy! ❤️ If you try this recipe, let me know how your ginger biscuits turned out!
