Homemade Aloe Vera Anti-Wrinkle Gel: A Simple Natural Skincare Recipe for Softer, Smoother-Looking Skin

  • by

Step 1: Prepare the Aloe Vera Gel

If using a fresh aloe vera leaf, wash it thoroughly and remove the outer green skin. Carefully discard the yellow latex beneath the skin, as it can irritate some people’s skin.

Use only the clear inner gel. A commercially prepared cosmetic-grade aloe vera gel is a convenient alternative.

Step 2: Extract the Gel

Place approximately two tablespoons of clear aloe vera gel into a clean bowl.

If the gel contains large pieces, blend it briefly until it reaches a smooth consistency.

Step 3: Add Vegetable Glycerin

Add one teaspoon of vegetable glycerin if desired.

Glycerin is a humectant, meaning it helps attract and retain moisture in the outer layers of the skin.

Step 4: Mix Everything Together

Stir the ingredients gently until they form a smooth, lightweight gel.

If the mixture is too thick, add a few drops of clean water.

Step 5: Transfer to a Clean Container

Place the mixture in a small, clean, airtight container.

Because homemade preparations do not contain preservatives, prepare only a small quantity and refrigerate it. Discard it after a few days or sooner if its smell, color, or texture changes.

How to Apply Aloe Vera Gel to Your Face

Step 1: Cleanse Your Face

Wash your face using a gentle facial cleanser to remove makeup, oil, and everyday impurities.

Pat your skin dry with a clean towel.

Step 2: Perform a Patch Test

Before applying the gel to your entire face, test a small amount on an inconspicuous area of skin.

Wait 24 hours to check for redness, itching, burning, or irritation.

Step 3: Apply a Thin Layer

Take a small amount of aloe vera gel and gently spread it over your face.

Avoid the eyes, lips, and any irritated or broken skin.

Step 4: Massage Gently

Use your fingertips to spread the gel using gentle upward movements.

There is no need to rub or pull the skin.

Step 5: Allow It to Absorb

Leave the gel on for approximately 10–15 minutes.

If your skin feels comfortable, you can leave a suitable commercial leave-on aloe product according to its instructions.

Step 6: Finish With Moisturizer

If your skin feels dry, apply a gentle facial moisturizer afterward.

During the daytime, finish your skincare routine with broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen.
