Golden Skillet Butter Bread

1. Activate the Yeast

In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast.
Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until it becomes foamy.

2. Prepare the Dough

Add to the yeast mixture:

  • Egg
  • Melted butter
  • Salt

Mix well. Gradually add the flour while mixing until a soft dough forms.

3. Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface.
Knead for 8–10 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and elastic.

4. First Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl.
Cover it with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

5. Shape the Bread

Punch down the dough and divide it into 6–8 equal pieces.
Roll each piece into a ball and arrange them in a round greased skillet or baking pan forming a ring.

6. Second Rise

Cover again and let the dough rise for 30 minutes until puffy.

7. Bake the Bread

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Bake for 20–25 minutes until the top becomes golden brown.

8. Add Butter and Serve

Remove from the oven and place a small cube of butter in the center so it melts over the bread.

Serve warm and pull apart each piece. Perfect with honey, jam, or cheese. 😋

✅ Tip: Brush the top with melted butter right after baking for extra shine and softness.
