FAMOUS CREAM PUFFS

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a saucepan combine water, butter, and salt.
  4. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

Step 2: Add the Flour

  1. Add the flour all at once.
  2. Stir quickly with a wooden spoon.
  3. Continue stirring until the dough forms a smooth ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

Step 3: Add the Eggs

  1. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each egg.
  3. The dough should become smooth and glossy.

Step 4: Shape the Puffs

  1. Spoon or pipe small mounds of dough onto the baking sheet.
  2. Leave about 2 inches of space between them.

Step 5: Bake

  1. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Do not open the oven while baking.
  3. Let the shells cool completely.

Step 6: Make the Cream Filling

  1. In a bowl beat:
    • heavy cream
    • powdered sugar
    • vanilla
  2. Beat until soft peaks form.

Step 7: Fill the Cream Puffs

  1. Slice each puff in half or poke a hole in the bottom.
  2. Fill with whipped cream using a spoon or piping bag.

Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate.

Serve chilled for the best texture.
