Easy 4-Ingredient Homemade Ice Cream

Pour the chilled heavy whipping cream into a large mixing bowl.

Using an electric mixer, beat on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip.

Step 2: Mix the Base

In a separate bowl, combine:

  • Sweetened condensed milk
  • Vanilla extract
  • Optional flavoring or food coloring

Stir until smooth.

Step 3: Fold Everything Together

Gently fold the whipped cream into the condensed milk mixture using a spatula.

Mix carefully to keep as much air in the mixture as possible. This creates a light, creamy texture.

Step 4: Add Your Favorite Flavor

Customize your ice cream by folding in your favorite mix-ins.

Vanilla

Leave the mixture as it is for a classic vanilla ice cream.

Strawberry

Fold in ½ cup strawberry puree or strawberry syrup and a few drops of pink food coloring if desired.

Chocolate

Mix in 2 tablespoons cocoa powder or ½ cup melted, cooled chocolate.

Step 5: Freeze

Transfer the mixture into an airtight freezer-safe container.

Smooth the top with a spatula and cover tightly.

Freeze for 6–8 hours, or preferably overnight.

Step 6: Serve

Let the ice cream sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before scooping.

Serve in bowls, cones, or alongside your favorite desserts.

Tips

  • Chill the mixing bowl and beaters before whipping the cream for the best volume.
  • Fold gently rather than stirring vigorously to keep the ice cream light and airy.
  • Add cookie crumbs, caramel sauce, fruit preserves, or chopped candy during the final fold for extra flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks for the best texture and flavor.
