During labor, my husband begged me to moan more quietly, then left me alone with our triplets and went on vacation because the birth was “too stressful” for him

Crying.

Almost no sleep.

Then, less than a week after we came home, Eric walked into the bedroom carrying a large suitcase.

I thought he was unpacking something.

Instead, he casually announced that the crying, lack of sleep, and sudden change in our lives had become “too much” for his mental health.

Then he told me he had booked a two-week vacation to Cabo with some friends so he could “reset.”

I honestly thought he was joking.

He wasn’t.

Before I could even process what he was saying, Eric kissed me on the forehead, grabbed his suitcase, and walked out the door.

Leaving me behind with three newborn babies.

Mostly alone.

Those two weeks were some of the hardest days of my life.

My sister came whenever she could, but she had her own job and family.

Most of it fell on me.

The midnight feedings.
