Creamy Garlic Shrimp and Scallops

  • by

Step 1: Prepare the seafood
Pat the scallops and shrimp completely dry with paper towels. Season both lightly with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

Step 2: Sear the scallops
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the scallops in a single layer. Cook for about 2–3 minutes per side, until they develop a beautiful golden-brown crust. Transfer them to a plate.

Step 3: Cook the shrimp
Add the shrimp to the same skillet. Cook for approximately 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove them from the skillet and set aside with the scallops.

Step 4: Make the garlic butter base
Reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and cook for about 30–60 seconds, just until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 5: Create the creamy sauce
Pour in the heavy cream and stir well, scraping up the flavorful browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Add the Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese.

Simmer gently for 2–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce becomes creamy and slightly thickened.

Step 6: Add the seafood back
Return the shrimp and scallops to the skillet. Spoon the creamy garlic sauce over the seafood and let everything warm together for another 1–2 minutes.

Step 7: Add the finishing touches
Stir in the fresh lemon juice and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Taste and adjust the salt and pepper if necessary.

Step 8: Serve immediately
Serve this creamy seafood skillet hot with crusty garlic bread, pasta, rice, mashed potatoes, or roasted vegetables. Make sure you have plenty of bread nearby—the sauce is too delicious to leave behind!

The combination of golden seared scallops, tender shrimp, garlic, Parmesan, and creamy sauce creates an impressive seafood dinner that feels fancy without requiring complicated techniques.

One bite and you’ll understand why we couldn’t stop eating it! 🦐🧈🍋
