Country Fried Steak

🥩 1. Prep the Meat

  • Pat cube steaks dry
  • Lightly season both sides with salt & pepper

🥣 2. Make Dredging Stations

  • Bowl 1: Flour + paprika + garlic powder + salt + pepper
  • Bowl 2: Eggs + milk (whisked)

🔄 3. Coat the Steaks

  1. Dip steak in flour
  2. Dip into egg mixture
  3. Back into flour again (for extra crunch!)
    👉 Press coating firmly so it sticks

🔥 4. Fry to Crispy Perfection

  • Heat oil in skillet (medium-high)
  • Fry steaks 3–4 minutes per side
  • Golden brown and crispy
  • Remove and rest on paper towels

🥛 5. Make the Cream Gravy

  1. Leave 2 tbsp oil/drippings in pan
  2. Add flour and whisk (cook 1–2 minutes)
  3. Slowly add milk while whisking
  4. Simmer until thick
  5. Season with salt & plenty of black pepper

🍽️ 6. Serve

  • Place steak on plate
  • Pour hot gravy over the top
  • Serve with mashed potatoes, eggs, or biscuits

  • Double-dipping = extra crispy crust
  • Don’t overcrowd pan (keeps coating crunchy)
  • Use cube steak — it’s already tenderized
  • Gravy should be smooth, not too thick
