Cheesy Taco Sticks

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Step 2: Cook the Beef

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook for 6–8 minutes until the beef is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess grease.

Step 3: Season the Filling

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add the taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 2–3 minutes until the mixture thickens. Remove from the heat and let it cool slightly.

Step 4: Prepare the Dough

Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into rectangles by pressing the seams together. If using pizza dough, cut it into 8 equal rectangles.

Step 5: Fill the Dough

Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the taco meat onto the center of each rectangle. Place a piece of mozzarella cheese on top and sprinkle with a little shredded cheddar.

Step 6: Seal the Taco Sticks

Fold the dough over the filling and pinch all the edges tightly to seal so the cheese stays inside while baking.

Step 7: Arrange on the Baking Sheet

Place the taco sticks seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.

Step 8: Brush with Butter

Mix the melted butter, garlic powder, parsley, and paprika. Brush the tops of the taco sticks with the mixture. Sprinkle with extra shredded cheddar cheese if desired.

Step 9: Bake

Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Step 10: Cool Slightly

Let the taco sticks cool for 5 minutes before serving, as the cheese inside will be very hot.

Step 11: Serve

Serve warm with salsa, sour cream, guacamole, queso dip, or your favorite Tex-Mex dipping sauce.

Tips

  • Add diced green chilies, black beans, or corn to the beef mixture for extra flavor.
  • Pepper Jack cheese adds a spicy kick.
  • Make sure to seal the dough well to prevent the cheese from leaking out.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in the oven or air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5–7 minutes to keep the dough crispy.

Enjoy these crispy, cheesy Taco Sticks—they’re packed with bold Tex-Mex flavors and guaranteed to be a family favorite! 🌮🧀
