Cheesy Ground Beef Garlic Bread

  • by

1. Prepare the Bread

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Slice the baguette lengthwise or cut it into large pieces, depending on how you want to serve it. Place the bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

2. Cook the Ground Beef

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the ground beef and cook for about 5–7 minutes, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon until browned and fully cooked.

Drain excess grease if necessary.

3. Add the Vegetables

Add the diced onion and green bell pepper to the skillet.

Cook for another 3–4 minutes, until the vegetables begin to soften.

Add the minced garlic, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and cook for another 30–60 seconds, until fragrant.

4. Prepare the Garlic Butter

Melt the butter and brush it generously over the cut surface of the bread.

For even more garlic flavor, mix a little extra minced garlic and chopped parsley into the melted butter before brushing it onto the bread.

5. Toast the Bread

Place the prepared bread in the oven and bake for about 5 minutes.

This gives the bread a lightly crisp surface and prevents it from becoming soggy underneath the meat mixture.

6. Add the Beef Mixture

Remove the bread from the oven.

Spoon the hot seasoned ground beef mixture evenly over the toasted bread.

Spread it all the way toward the edges so every bite has plenty of filling.

7. Add the Cheese

Sprinkle the mozzarella and cheddar generously over the beef.

Don’t be shy with the cheese—the combination of melted mozzarella and cheddar creates the rich, gooey topping that makes this recipe so irresistible.

8. Bake Until Golden

Return the bread to the oven and bake for approximately 8–12 minutes, until the cheese is completely melted and bubbling.

For a beautifully browned top, switch the oven to broil for the final 1–2 minutes. Watch it carefully because the cheese can brown quickly.

9. Garnish and Slice

Remove the cheesy garlic bread from the oven and let it cool for 2–3 minutes.

Sprinkle with fresh parsley, then slice into individual pieces.

10. Serve

Serve immediately while the bread is warm, crispy, and loaded with melted cheese.

This is perfect for family dinners, game-day parties, potlucks, movie nights, or an easy weekend snack.

Tip: For the crispiest result, choose a sturdy French or Italian loaf rather than very soft sandwich bread. Draining the cooked beef well also helps keep the garlic bread crisp instead of soggy.
