Step 1: Wash Your Hands
Wash your hands with a gentle soap and pat them dry, leaving them slightly damp.
Step 2: Mix the Oils
Combine the castor oil with the almond or jojoba oil and vitamin E, if using.
Step 3: Massage
Massage the oil into your hands for 3–5 minutes, paying extra attention to:
- Knuckles
- Cuticles
- Dry patches
- Wrists
Step 4: Let It Absorb
For a quick treatment, leave the oil on for 20–30 minutes.
For deeper hydration, put on cotton gloves and leave it on overnight.
Step 5: Repeat
Use 3–4 times per week, or nightly if your hands are very dry.
Extra Tips
- Apply after washing your hands to help lock in moisture.
- Use sunscreen on the backs of your hands during the day to help prevent sun-related aging and dark spots.
- Stay hydrated and moisturize regularly, especially during cold or dry weather.
Optional DIY Hand Mask
Mix together:
- 1 teaspoon castor oil
- 1 teaspoon shea butter
- ½ teaspoon coconut oil
Massage into your hands, leave on for 30 minutes, then wipe away any excess.
Important Notes
- Perform a patch test before using castor oil for the first time, especially if you have sensitive skin.
- Avoid applying castor oil to broken or irritated skin.
- If you experience redness, itching, or irritation, discontinue use.
With consistent use, castor oil can help keep your hands feeling soft, smooth, and well-moisturized, though it should not be expected to remove wrinkles or produce dramatic anti-aging results.
