3-Ingredient Banana Bread

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease and lightly flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan, or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2: Mash the Bananas

Peel the ripe bananas and mash them in a large mixing bowl until mostly smooth. A few small lumps are perfectly fine.

Step 3: Add the Eggs

Crack the eggs into the mashed bananas and whisk until the mixture is smooth and well combined.

Step 4: Mix in the Flour

Gradually add the self-rising flour.

Stir gently with a spatula until no dry flour remains. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread soft and tender.

Step 5: Fill the Pan

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Step 6: Bake

Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

If the top begins browning too quickly, loosely cover it with aluminum foil during the last 10–15 minutes of baking.

Step 7: Cool

Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Transfer it to a wire rack and let it cool completely before slicing.

Optional Add-Ins

Customize your banana bread by folding in any of these before baking:

  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup shredded coconut

Tips for the Best Banana Bread

  • Use very ripe bananas with plenty of brown spots for the sweetest flavor.
  • Do not overmix the batter, as this can make the bread dense.
  • Let the loaf cool before slicing for cleaner cuts.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to 1 week.

Enjoy a warm slice on its own or spread with butter, peanut butter, or cream cheese for an extra delicious treat! 🍌🍞
