Those eyes are stunning

Kiki’s eyes have that soft mossy-green blend with muted gold tones, while Aspen’s are incredibly striking — that deep amber/golden iris with the sharp black pupil gives such a wildcat look.

A lot of cats actually have multiple pigments layered in the iris, which is why you’ll often notice:

  • a green ring around the pupil,
  • gold or copper toward the outer iris,
  • and sometimes tiny flecks that change depending on lighting.

The contrast is especially dramatic in:

  • torties/calicos like Kiki because their coat colors already have rich warm tones,
  • and gray cats like Aspen because the cool fur makes amber eyes look almost glowing.

The vertical slit pupils make the color gradients even more noticeable up close. In bright light, the pupils narrow and reveal all those hidden shades and rings.

Here are some common cat eye colors people obsess over:

  • Golden amber 🍯
  • Emerald green 🌿
  • Hazel mix 🌰
  • Copper/orange 🔥
  • Ice blue ❄️
  • Odd eyes (two different colors) ✨

And honestly, close-up cat eye photos are addictive because every iris looks unique — almost like fingerprints. Kiki’s soft watercolor tones and Aspen’s intense gold are completely different vibes, but both are gorgeous.
