Classic Fried Bologna Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bologna
  • 4 slices of white bread or Texas toast
  • 2 tablespoons butter or mayonnaise
  • 2 slices American cheese
  • Yellow mustard
  • Pickle slices
  • Optional: onion slices or fried egg

Step 1: Heat the Pan

Place a skillet over medium heat and let it warm up for about 2 minutes.

Step 2: Prepare the Bologna

Cut small slits around the edges of each bologna slice.
This keeps the meat from puffing up while frying.

Step 3: Fry the Bologna

Place the bologna slices in the hot skillet.

Step 6: Build the Sandwich

Spread mustard on the toasted bread.
Add the fried bologna and melted cheese.
Top with pickle slices and onions if desired.

Step 7: Serve Hot

Close the sandwich and serve immediately with chips, fries, or a pickle spear.
