Step-by-step: Clean a Dusty Standing Fan

1. Unplug the fan before cleaning.

2. Remove the front grill by unclipping or unscrewing it.

3. Take out the fan blades carefully.

4. Dust everything first using a dry microfiber cloth or soft brush to remove loose dust.

5. Prepare your cleaning solution:

2 cups warm water

½ cup white vinegar

1 teaspoon dish soap

6. Spray the solution onto a microfiber cloth (avoid spraying directly into the motor).

7. Wipe the front and back grills until all dirt is gone.

8. Wash the fan blades with the same solution, then wipe thoroughly.

9. Dry every part completely with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.

10. Wipe the fan body and stand, taking care not to let liquid enter the motor or control panel.

11. Reassemble the fan once everything is completely dry.

12. Plug it back in and test it. Your fan should look fresh, clean, and blow air more efficiently.

Pro tip: If the dust is greasy or very stubborn, let the cleaning solution sit on the grills and blades for 3–5 minutes before wiping. Avoid getting any liquid inside the motor housing.
