Ingredients
1 cup white vinegar
2 tablespoons Sunlight Dishwashing Liquid
½ cup baking soda
Warm water (if needed)
Microfiber cloth or soft scrubbing sponge
Rubber gloves
Step 1
Turn off the water supply to the toilet.
Step 2
Flush the toilet to lower the water level in the cistern.
Step 3
Pour 1 cup of white vinegar into the cistern.
Step 4
Add 2 tablespoons of Sunlight Dishwashing Liquid.
Step 5
Sprinkle in ½ cup of baking soda slowly.
Step 6
Leave the mixture to work for 20–30 minutes.
Step 7
Use a microfiber cloth or soft sponge to wipe the inside walls, corners, float, and other plastic parts. Avoid using anything abrasive that could damage components.
Step 8
Turn the water supply back on and let the cistern refill.
Step 9
Flush the toilet 2–3 times to rinse away any remaining residue.
Step 10
Replace the cistern lid and enjoy a cleaner, fresher toilet tank.
Tip: Clean your toilet cistern every 3–6 months to help reduce mineral buildup and keep the toilet flushing efficiently.
